Construction Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Manager to lead and grow our construction phase services. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, ready to refine systems, uphold design excellence, and ensure that projects are built with quality and care. This is not a role for someone looking to be micromanaged. We need a self-starter who takes ownership of their time, communicates effectively, manages details, and follows through with consistency.

The most successful candidates will be accountable, organized, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the construction administration phase of multiple landscape and urban design projects.

  • Maintain and enforce design intent during construction, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors and consultants.

  • Prepare and manage bid documents, specifications, and project manuals.

  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.

  • Conduct regular site visits, manage punch lists, and provide responsive and timely field direction.

  • Proactively identify and solve issues before they become problems, log RFIs, submittals, and coordinate with project teams.

  • Collaborate with the client, consultants, and the CultivateLAND team to maintain seamless project continuity from concept to completion.

  • Lead and refine construction-phase processes and standards to grow this core service area of the firm.

What Makes You A Good Fit?

  • Are passionate about building things that matter and care about quality execution.

  • Are naturally organized and excellent at managing multiple moving pieces.

  • Take initiative, solve problems proactively, and don't wait to be told what to do.

  • Are motivated by both technical precision and creative collaboration.

  • Value long-term relationships, with clients, contractors, and coworkers alike.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly under pressure.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of landscape construction, specifications, and the bid process.

  • Familiarity with preparing and administering construction documents.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

  • Experience with project management software such as Autodesk Build, Microsoft Project, or Procore.

  • Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and high-performance landscapes is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 4–7 years of professional experience, with demonstrated success managing construction phases of design projects.

  • Landscape Architecture License (or actively pursuing).

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Fluent in interpreting technical drawings, construction details, and documentation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses and a retirement savings plan.

  • Health and dental insurance.

  • Paid time off and flexible working culture.

  • Access to an office gym and garden.

  • A strong culture of mentorship and high-growth potential.
